It was a mid-week session for Elite Football Coaching stable members Chris Inverno (Cora Lynn) and Ethan Lakman (Caulfield Grammar).

It was a typical cold July winters morning, with a slippery surface to train on.

Even given that, both boys worked hard on honing their skills as well as topping up some fitness for the back end of the season.

After the training session I interviewed both Chris and Ethan.

I think it was very important for me to hear their perspective on what they had got out of the session, but more importantly what is Elite Football Coaching doing for them and their game.

Coaching is not just a “one way street”. Feedback and communication is vital to provide the athlete with the correct training that he or she needs.

I am very conscious of analysing each player and focussing in on maintaining their strengths and, importantly, working to improve their weaknesses.
